PROGRAM OFFERINGS

FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE, ORDER A PROGRAM THAT MEETS YOUR OBJECTIVES*

* Free for residents of Inyo County.
1. VISIT GLADYS ON SITE
​Ideal for schools, Gladys can be set up on-site so classes can visit her one at a time.  Presented by one of her handlers, students can expect an interactive and informative follow-up to the large audience Multi-media Presentation.
2. DEMONSTRATIONS / WORKSHOPS
​Designed for fairs, community events, after-school programs, or other small group situations, Gladys and her handlers will present an informative, entertaining, and interactive exhibition and offer a Kaleidoscope Making Workshop if appropriate.  
3. ReUseArts WORKSHOP
Led by one of her artist handlers, participants will make a useful item from used materials.
​4. MULTI MEDIA PRESENTATION
​Ideal for school assemblies, or other large groups, this entertaining combination of live action, video, and slideshow elements can be used as a stand-alone environmental education presentation or in combination with the extension activities and STEAM curriculum materials
5. STEAM CURRICULUM
​STEAM activities and lessons, adaptable for all ages, used in combination with the Multimedia Presentation.  Designed for teachers and workshop presenters, students will explore the many ways they use recyclables each day, design and conduct simple experiments to test the properties of different types, learn how materials are made and recycled, and communicate their findings.  Gladys’ curriculum development will be done with consideration of National and California teaching Standards in Science, Art, and Mathematics
6. KALEIDOSCOPE MAKING WORKSHOP
​Led by one of her artist handlers, participants will make their own kaleidoscope out of recycled materials. Learning optics, angles and more in accordance with the STEAM curriculum
7. FIELD TRIPS TO FEED GLADYS
​Classes can bring their collected and sorted recyclables to feed Gladys on site at the transfer station.  Field trip’s can include a presentation, tour (in collaboration with Inyo County), and an on-site kaleidoscope workshop.
